2021 Final Balance for General Fire Equipment Funds
Notice is hereby given to the qualified voters of the Township of Lent, County of Chisago, State of Minnesota that the Annual Town Meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at 7:00 pm at the Lent Town Hall, 33155 Hemingway Avenue, Stacy, MN 55079 and remotely via Zoom. If weather prohibits the Annual Meeting from being held on March 8, 2022, the bad weather date is set for Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at 7:00 pm. The alternate date is used only if inclement weather prevents the meeting from being held on March 8.
If you plan to attend the meeting in person, you will be required to wear a mask, practice six-foot physical distancing requirements and follow all safety guidelines.

A quorum of the Lent Township Board may be present at the CSAH 17 Extension Open House Meeting to discuss the Chisago County easterly extension of County State Aid Highway 17 from Forest Blvd. to Lincoln Rd (County Road 14).

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on Wednesday, February 9, 2022, 7:00 p.m. via Zoom and at the Lent Town Hall at 33155 Hemingway Avenue, Stacy, MN 55079, the Lent Township Planning Commission will hold a public hearing to review an application for a Home Occupation Interim Use Permit (IUP) application at 35775 Energy Trail, Stacy, MN 55079 – PID: 05.00721.04 The Planning Commission will make a recommendation regarding the Home Occupation IUP application to the Town Board for their meeting to be held on February 15, 2022, 7:00 p.m. via Zoom and at the Lent Town Hall.

Pruning is a great way to prevent spread of diseases like oak wilt
Late winter is the ideal time to prune branches on trees, according to experts with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources. When done correctly, pruning in the winter is less risky to tree health.
“Now through early March — just before trees come out of dormancy — is a great time to get outside and prune your trees,” said Jennifer Teegarden, DNR cooperative forestry outreach specialist. “As trees become active in spring, they are able to quickly heal the pruning wound.”
Wintertime pruning minimizes the risk that an open pruning wound could invite pests or diseases. Pruning oak trees should be avoided from April through July, when beetles that can spread oak wilt are feeding on tree sap, which is present at new wounds.
