Lent Township

The Lent Township Board of Adjustment will convene a public hearing on

Tuesday, May 13, 2008, beginning at 7:00 PM at the Lent Town Hall located at

33155 Hemingway Avenue, Stacy, Chisago County, Minnesota 55079, for the

following purpose:

To receive and review a variance from Karl Angst, living at 5080 305^th Street,

Stacy, Minnesota 55079, to construct a pole barn closer to the side lot line

than the required setback.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

Amendments to Land Use Regulations

Public notice is hereby given, pursuant to Minnesota Statutes Sections 365.125 and 462.357, that the Lent Township Planning Commission will convene a public hearing at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at the Lent Town Hall, 33155 Hemingway Avenue, Stacy, Minnesota.  The purpose of this public hearing is to present and receive testimony regarding the amendment of official land use regulations for Lent Township, Chisago County, Minnesota.  The proposed amendments affect the following Chapters of the Lent Township Land Use Regulations:

Chapter Two: Zoning Ordinance (Amendment 02-003)

·      Add new definitions for: Cash Escrow, Communication, Performance Guarantee, and Right-of-Way;

·      Establish performance standards, require a permit and set a fee for all utility work taking place within the right-of-way of Township roads;

·      Replace the 5-foot fence requirement for in-ground swimming pools with a reference to the current Minnesota State Building Code standards.

·      Prohibit the use of Transferred Development Rights or Credits to achieve smaller lot sizes and/or increased development density.

Chapter Three: Subdivision Ordinance (Amendment 03-001)

·      Prohibit the use of Transferred Development Rights or Credits to achieve smaller lot sizes and/or increased development density within any subdivision.

Chapter Four: Sewage and Wastewater Treatment Ordinance (Amendment 04-002)

·      Adopt by reference Minnesota Pollution Control Agency standards 7080.0178 and 7080.0179 to allow, monitor and regulate the use of performance systems and other systems for wastewater treatment.

Chapter Five: Building Code (Amendment 05-001)

·      Require photographs of ice and water barrier installation to be submitted along with final inspection of any roof repair/replacement.

Chapter Six: Administration, Enforcement and Fees Ordinance (Amendment 06-001)

·      Redefine the designation of the Zoning Administrator;

·      Establish administrative and enforcement procedures for all performance guarantees; identify those officials granted citation powers and specify the nature and procedures for effectuating such powers.

The Lent Township Planning Commission will convene a public hearing on

Wednesday, May 14, 2008, beginning at 7:30 PM at the Lent Town Hall located

at 33155 Hemingway Avenue, Stacy, Chisago County, Minnesota 55079, for the

following purpose:

To receive and review a Land Use Permit from Daniel D. Smith, Dustin D. Smith, and

Jaymes D. Smith living at 7276 281^st Avenue, North Branch, Minnesota 55056,

to conduct a marine shop located at 34850 Forest Blvd., North Branch, Minnesota 55056.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

Joint Meeting With Stacy Council - Orderly Annexation Agreement

Immediately following the 6:00 p.m. Public Hearing (above notice) on May 27, 2008, the City Council of the City of Stacy and the Board of Supervisors of the Township of Lent will hold a joint meeting. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss and possibly sign the
proposed Orderly Annexation Agreement.
